Team Spotlight: 7 Questions with Paulina Riedler
With 3 years as a Director at inteliKINECT under her belt, Paulina Riedler has had a front row seat to the growth and opportunity that the company has achieved. Persistently striving for results and constantly developing professionally, Paulina continues to thrive and innovate as a leader, guiding her team in staying one step ahead of the competition. Below, Paulina explains why her experience leading a company like inteliKINECT is truly unique.
Briefly describe what you do all day.
I’m very operations-minded in my day-to-day. Every morning I come in and make sure everybody knows what they’re doing. If they need support - I’m there. The hard part is being able to prioritize the needs of the team with what I personally need to be doing as well. You can easily lose an entire day facilitating and filling in the gaps without getting any work done for yourself.
What’s the best thing about your job?
The creative freedom that comes with running a business. Especially in a niche business like ours, we’re the ones who are setting the precedent. The processes that we’re creating, they’ve never been done before. Everything that we do is created for us (and our clients), by us. We’re blazing a trail, and the creativity that’s allowed by that is exciting.
What’s been one of your proudest moments working at inteliKINECT?
Being able to provide benefits for our employees. For a startup like us, it’s a massive jump from simply having employees to being able to give back to them. We’re building a team here, and it feels really good to be able to tell your team “we’ve got you covered”.
What do you like to do when you’re not at the office?
I teach salsa! I originally grew up with ballet, but over time life caught up and I found myself with less and less time to dedicate to it. Salsa dancing is a great way for me to continue to express myself through dance without the rigorous demands of ballet.
Fill in the blank: I once met…
Stevie Wonder - I was so nervous when I met him. All I could do is walk up to him and say “Hi Stevie, I’m a big fan!”
What’s the song that best describes your personality?
As an unabashed optimist - Every Little Thing's Gonna Be Alright - Bob Marley.
What are five words (or less) of advice for others in your profession?
Be patient, kind and forward-focused.
